Ken Mick Jr.

Kidney Replacement Medical Fund

Hi, my name is Ken Mick and I have inherited Polycystic Kidney Disease. While this disease usually Ken and Beth Mick and their 4 childrenprogresses when one is in the late 50's - 60's, God jump started mine in my mid 40's.  I was most likely facing dialysis three times a week by January 2009, and employment would suffer. A friend volunteered to be a donor. We were a close match and the transplant occurred on January 16, 2008.

My kidney function was at 15% and now is a healthy 60%+. The doctors are very pleased with my recovery and healing. I am on a lifetime of steroids and anti-rejection medicine.  Currently, because of the family low income level, these costs are covered. A  medical fund has been set up to help cover these costs in the future. The first goal is to build the fund to $80,000.  Currently we are close to the $6,000 mark.

I am father to four children ages 14-21. Beth and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in June.

I am the pastor for Windsor Congregational Church in Windsor, MA
